Agriculture Day at Warner Elementary

Ag dat at Warner Elementary was a whirlwind! We played with and taught 390+ kiddos in just about 6 hours! We got to share Justin’s Place mission and a little bit about equine assisted services with all students before sending them through the following rotational learning stations.

  1. Wooden Magnet Boards

Kids learned face markings, leg markings and coat colors by getting hands on with our giant wooden puzzle/magnet boards!

  2. Horse Face Markings

Participant’s learned that horse’s have unique markings just like humans! These markings help us tell who is who and distinguish them among the herd. This was learned by squishing play do into different face marking shapes on their horse’s face.

  3. Goats, Pigs & Bunnies

Students practiced velcro matching sheets to learn what our barnyard animals like to eat and fun facts about each species!

  4. Saddle Sit

Riding takes a lot of muscles!! Kids practiced raising their bottom off the saddle using only their leg and core muscles!

  5. Corn Digging

Kids learned some of our animal’s names by digging for letters in our small corn bins! Then they worked in teams to unscramble the letters to guess the horse’s name.
