    2. FRCs work to identify children in need and gain permission to refer to the program

    3. Justin’s Place Stable Moments Coordinator reaches out to each family to gather more information before beginning services

  • Lessons are once per week on the same day and time. Seasons typically run 12 weeks with 2 weeks of pony visits and one field trip at the end of the season.

  • This program is contracted directly through the school and payment options vary depending on available funding and grants.

  • Each Stable Moments session is carried out by trained community mentors. The participant’s overall plan, goals and sessions are supervised by our Stable Moments Coordinator.

Stable Moments is a curriculum being provided all over the country.

What does a session include?

There is no “typical” session. Each session is child led and lasts 60 minutes. Participants can choose from any activity, within reason. If they are interested in it, we will try to make it happen! Typical activities include art, board games, sports activities and creating things like slime and bracelets. Each session includes some learning activity about horses and a life skill. Every semester, two miniature horses visit for two weeks and the semester of services ends with a field trip to the farm!
