Soaring to New Heights at Justin's Place Vaulting Camp
This week, our arena was filled with laughter, determination, and plenty of cheering as campers discovered the exciting world of equestrian vaulting. Throughout the week, participants learned that vaulting is so much more than standing on a horse—it is a unique sport that combines balance, strength, creativity, teamwork, and trust.
Each day began with games, stretching, and conditioning activities designed to build confidence before moving on to barrel work and horse time. Campers practiced foundational vaulting skills step by step, celebrating each new accomplishment while learning the importance of patience, perseverance, and supporting one another.
One of the highlights of the week was our "Super Power Achievement" program. Instead of focusing only on physical skills, campers were recognized for qualities like courage, teamwork, creativity, confidence, excellent horsemanship, and helping others. We believe these character strengths are just as important as mastering a new vaulting move, and it was incredible to watch campers encourage each other and celebrate one another's successes.
Vaulting naturally teaches life lessons that extend far beyond the arena. Campers learned to communicate with their teammates, trust their horses, manage challenges with resilience, and step outside their comfort zones. Whether they were trying a new skill for the first time or helping a friend build confidence, every child had opportunities to grow.
Of course, none of this would be possible without our amazing equine partners. Our horses patiently carried each camper through new experiences, reminding us that meaningful learning happens through the special connection between humans and animals.
By the end of the week, campers had developed stronger bodies, greater confidence, new friendships, and memories that will last long after camp ended. We are so proud of every participant for their willingness to learn, encourage others, and keep trying—even when something felt difficult.
Thank you to all of our campers, families, volunteers, and staff for making Vaulting Camp such a special week. We can't wait to see everyone back at the farm for more adventures together!
